Scaleability and Maintainability
ADEW believe that scaleability and maintainability are important parts in designing web sites and software, and endeavor to do these when implementing sites. These are detailed more below.
Scaleability
Scaleability means that the system can be expanded in the future to take account of new requirements. For example, a web site selling products can be further enhanced with more features, such as stock control. Scaleability is worked out on a project by project basis.
Maintainability
Maintainable code is code that can be maintained in the future - for example, to add in new features. Code that is not maintainable is more difficult to add features in to at a later stage, and can cost more to add the new features in to.
Both of these are subjective to an extent - different people have different methods of implementing, so one persons Maintainability may not be another's. However, ADEW attempt to use methods that are maintainable than others to assist in this.
