example freelance prices
Often I work to a fixed price quote for a fixed amount of work, although I do also do pay per hour too if requested.
It is difficult to give prices out on a web site, as the price is very dependant not only on the work required, but the process of doing it, and distance (if meetings are required) etc., as well as server access / technologies & timescales.
Some approximate prices are given, working on certain given assumptions (such as ftp access to server) - these are not formal quotes or offers of work, just guides based on typical work required. Prices are also site size dependant to an extent - a site with 5 products costs less to develop than a site with 5000 products, for example.
All work is subject to my availability, acceptance of a quote and a signed contract. All prices are show ex VAT which is charged at the prevailing rate.
sample prices
As I'm not a designer, these example prices include my taking your design (or your designers design) in HTML (or, possibly, images, for additional cost) and converting into site. Data entry to setup site is usually assumed to be client's responsibility unless agreed before hand.
CMS
Typically a user name / password protected admin site is used to edit predefined content on the site.
I tend only to offer this in php/mySQL. Prices depend very much on site size - but typically a few simple pages on a simple site could be £175, a site navigation on left or right or top controlled by cms with something like 50 pages, links to other pages, file upload for 'gallery' could be £545.
I do a lot more complex sites for higher prices too, for example a complex CMS might costs a few £1000, but difficult to describe in a few words.
e-commerce
Typically a user name / password protected admin site is used to edit products and other predefined settings & content on the site.
Have considerable experience in connecting with PayPal, WorldPay, Protx etc., plus some others.
I tend only to offer this in php/mySQL. Prices depend very much on site size and payment provider (if needed) - but typically a few simple products on a simple site linked to something like PayPal etc. could be £175. A more complex site with category navigation on left or right or top controlled by cms with something like 50 products, links to other pages, checkout to payment provider could be £545.

When specifying these kinds of projects it is important to know what the client requires specifically. For example, 'special offers' can cover many different things, and it is important to know at the fixed price quote stage exactly what they are after.
be-spoke
These prices are very difficult to outline as it depends on what is being looked at. I've done small bespoke projects - such as publishing a simple Access database on web with search for £350, to very large projects for larger prices that reflect the amount of work & expenses required.
Nothing on this site constitutes a formal quote, or an offer of work. All work subject to availability, accepted quote and signed contract. All sample prices ex VAT.
