freelance php developer
I've been a freelance php developer for some years, working on mySQL databases, developing commercial systems.
Over the years I've developed various php solutions, including cms, e-commerce and be-spoke solutions. I have both taken on existing projects and amended them, as well as starting from scratch.
I tend to work on a fixed price quote for a fixed amount of work; although I can also work on a pay per hour basis in some situations.
Experience
I used to be a commercial C++ programmer, working on Teletext systems for companies such as the BBC, before I went freelance. When I went full time freelance in April 2000 I moved over to web technologies, including PHP, as that is what many people were asking for. I used to do a lot of ASP as that is what people mainly asked for; now-a-days people mainly ask for PHP/mySQL.
